Escape to Above Ground

What this route finishes

You are done when you walk forward after the last teleport and reach the outdoor area. That result is the Above Ground badge. Reaching Reality earlier is a separate badge and unlocks Reality on the mode list.

Count the keys as two hunts, not one pile. Some summaries say four keys because they add the freedom-room key to the three office keys. Both counts describe the same route.

Do this in Classic or Survival. PvP uses other maps and a separate kill count. Keep a gun out for the freedom room even in Classic.

Bloxy Cola

  1. Talk to the Suspicious Man. He asks for a Bloxy Cola before he gives exit directions. He is upstairs in the Stormy Office, in the safe section.
  2. Reach 10 PvE kills.
  3. Buy Bloxy Cola from Daniel in The Lobby.
  4. Hand it over. This is One Step Closer.

His next landmark is a sign that reads freedom.

Freedom key, then Reality

  1. Enter the room under the freedom sign. More entities are inside.
  2. Hold the interaction prompt on the key.
  3. Leave and find the nearby large room with a window.
  4. Shoot the glass and go through.
  5. Hold the interaction prompt inside. You teleport into Reality and earn the Reality badge.

The freedom key is not one of the three stabilizer keys. If this area is closed off, the Cola has not been delivered yet.

Three office keys

  1. Take the first key from a nearby ground-floor office.
  2. Go to the second floor.
  3. Search two different office rooms for the second and third keys.
  4. Return downstairs only after all three are in hand.

The core

Have tape before you start.

  1. From the ground floor, go forward and up to the controls.
  2. Turn on the power.
  3. Put all three keys in the keyholes.
  4. Press the red button.
  5. At 35 percent, a monster charges the core. Go down and tape the hole.
  6. Do not touch the body. Contact still kills you after it stops moving.
  7. Wait until the indicator reaches 100 percent, then wait a little longer for the teleport.
  8. Walk forward. That is Above Ground. You can explore or stay idle. No further key is required.

The other results

Endless is the failed experiment. In that area, going toward the red letters instead of the galaxy awards Truth. If you want the surface, finish the tape repair and let the charge complete.

When the route stalls

  • No Cola in the shop: you are under 10 PvE kills, or you are checking a PvP counter.
  • Empty inventory on an old account: re-equip at the shops. Update 1.2 did not delete the kill count.
  • One upstairs key and a locked core: the second upstairs office is still missing.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

My weapons vanished after Update 1.2. Did I lose them?

No. The new save system hides weapons you owned before 1.2 until you visit the weapon shops and re-equip them. That reclaim is free, and your kill count stays saved.

Do PvP kills unlock Daniel's and Miguel's weapons?

No. PvP kill progress is separate from Classic and Survival. Shop milestones such as Bloxy Cola at 10 kills have to be earned in PvE.

Do I need the Teleport to Hub pass to enter the Hub?

No. The 299 Robux pass adds a button that teleports you to the Hub and to levels you have already visited. Walking into the Hub does not require the pass.

Are there working codes?

None are published in the experience description, and no code string was available to list. A redeem button has not been documented, so do not reuse codes from a different Backrooms game.
